~ PAST EVENTS ~

Past Event: February 12 - Darwin Day Celebration – Dinner and lecture with Dr. Jan Narveson – Religion and Morality?

Past Event: November 1st – Wilfrid Laurier University. About 30 people attended The Introduction to Humanism lecture. This was an informal presentation that allowed those present to participate through open questions and discussion. Students from both WLU and UW were there and provided a refreshing set of questions and ideas. This lecture will probably be offered in other SOFREE areas. If you are interested in hosting an event like this contact us through our president, Doug Thomas.

Past Event: World Religions Conference ~ Waterloo, October 13, 2012
SOFREE made good impressions at the World Religions Conference again this  year. Our table volunteers fielded questions and challenges with intelligence and friendliness, Ted Spicer presented our principles with dignity and authority, our SOFREE Singers sang “Imagine” extremely well, and our presenter, President Doug Thomas delivered a clear message that Ideal Government must be a government separated clearly from church. His responses to audience questions are on the WRC website under the Questions and Answers menu item on thel left. Videos of the conference are available at the YouTube logo on the WRC site.
