Re: Five Local Secular groups form a new Atheist alliance to promote Secularism and to provide better contact opportunities for non-believers in the Waterloo Region–Wellington County Areas.

The Society of Ontario Freethinkers (Sofree), Sacred Secular Sanctuary (Sanctuary), Atheists Agnostics Freethinkers of Waterloo (AAFW), the Guelph Secular Humanist Society (GSH), and Grand River Atheists (GRA) are co-operating to provide one contact point for non-believers in the Waterloo Region and Wellington County. The central component of that network is the website, www.grsa.ca where interested non-believers can make contact with each organization and discover which of the five they think matches their needs.

Grand River Secular Alliance (http:www.grsa.ca)will provide a common working group for participation in public events, in common celebration dates such as Darwin Day and Winter Solstice, and in promotional campaigns to raise awareness among the non-believer community about the five groups currently involved. Current projects include the “Hop on the Bus” campaign to put information advertising on Grand River Transit and hosting The Non-Conference 2015, a conference for non-believers.

GRSA will also welcome other Secular groups into the Alliance and will maintain contact with similar groups around Ontario through Atheists Enlight Ontario Network (http://www.atheistsenlight.network/#aeonetwork and across Canada through Secular Connexion Séculaire (http://www.secularconnexion.ca).
